What to expect

Booking the date

Once the contract is signed and I receive the deposit, you’ll get an email confirmation that we’re all set.

Plan your engagement session

Next, we’ll start planning your engagement session via email and over the phone. We’ll talk about the looks you have in mind, locations you love, and finally narrow down the best locations for your session and set the date. We’ll find a place near the location if possible to grab drinks or coffee so we can get to hangout in person before your session!

Engagement photos!

Your session could be 2 to 3 hours. We’ll meet for drinks or coffee before the session and get to know each other a bit more. Then take a couple hours exploring, talking and chasing the light! One to three weeks later, you’ll receive an online gallery of all your images!

One month out: finalize your timeline

About a month before your wedding, I’ll email you a questionnaire. This is where I gather all the timing, addresses for getting ready, hotel rooms and locations for the day! We’ll even get specific here about family photos and vendor contacts so I am fully prepared.

With this information plus the package and options you select, I’ll build a timeline to help guide you through the day. I’ll follow up with a call a week later to go through the timeline and answer any questions.

Need help figuring out the timeline sooner? No problem! Through my experience I’ve developed a sense for the timing of different activities from how long portrait sessions should take to how many locations in the city we can realistically visit before your reception. I’m happy to help you estimate how much time you need and help build your timeline to ensure you get the photos you want without everyone feeling rushed!

One week out: final payment and final details

One week before the wedding, your final payment is due. I’ll send a reminder email if the payment hasn’t already been received! I’ll also send you an email with the finalized timeline and a few reminders.

Your wedding day!

I always want to start the day prepared from the start to capture memories for you. I’ll arrive before our initial time to scout the location (even if its a place I’ve been to) and to say hellos a and meet everyone! I’ll spend the first moments there with your dress, details and significant details to your day. From there we’ll follow the timeline and be alongside you throughout the day!

2 - 4 weeks after: your wedding gallery

Two to Three weeks after your wedding you will find ALL your wedding day images in an online gallery.  We do our absolute best to make sure we get you your images back as quickly as possible because we know how excited you are!

About me

I began my photography career over 15 years ago as a photographer for a Natural History Museum. There I learned to be versatile and to shoot anything from galleries, portraits, events to fossils and fieldwork. My background as a documentary photographer informs my wedding photography. Just like the museum, weddings also call for a versatile photographer to catch great details, ceremony and reception spaces, portraits and events. But with my wedding photography, I push for more. Inspired by photographers like Henri Cartier-Bresson, I follow the light and seek decisive moments—emotion and reactions.

I've been photographing weddings in the Philadelphia area for over four years. The emotion and excitement never get old. Receptions are my favorite part. And when I'm not ducking under relatives on the dancefloor to get closer—and a better shot—you may catch me dancing along with your guests.
